Our Totally Ridiculous MadeUp Christmas Relationship A Novella edition by Brittainy Cherry Literature Fiction eBooks

The title for once has it right in that this book is absolutely ridiculous. Right so this was a really crack-like story and the characters were kind of pathetic. I had a hard time taking this book seriously. Though I guess this book isn’t really meant to be taken seriously.

The positives: This book had some funny dialog and situations. There are moments when I straight out laughed out loud. Another thing was how Julie’s family were self-centered and at times hateful but in the end were all like able to come together. Julie’s mother especially was such a heinous shrewd at times but still in the end showed she did love her. It was actually a pretty realistic dysfunctional family dynamic.

The Cons: I found Julie kind of pathetic and while I get why she was that way I was still not too into her character. Kayden was also weird in the complete 360 he made from first thinking Julie was the kind of girl you run from for being clingy to suddenly being all into her. I found the way they suddenly fell for each other kind of unrealistic but then this whole book was unrealistic.

Overall I did enjoy myself and it was a quick fast read.

Our Totally Ridiculous MadeUp Christmas Relationship A Novella edition by Brittainy Cherry Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Kayden is a struggling actor just trying to make his debut on the big screen. His dad thinks he's wasting his life. His brother is an ass. The only 2 people who have his back is his mom & his aunt. Jules is the black sheep of her family. Her ex boyfriend is now with her sister. Her parents are always putting her down. And to make things worse, she now has to go home for the holidays and is supposed to be taking her current boyfriend, Richard with her. Problem is, Richard isn't her boyfriend anymore. Jules can't go home without a boyfriend. Well why not hire an actor to go with her? Kayden signs up for the job and is expecting to spend 5 days playing the charming, smart boyfriend and after that, be on his way. But is this just a job for Kayden? Once the 5 days are up, will they both be on their merry way or will something unexpected happen?

Jules tends to fall for guys too fast. She's weird, tends to ramble and worries too much about what her family thinks. But man she sure was funny. I liked her. She wasn't afraid to be silly in front of Kayden.

Kayden is straight forward. He tells Jules how it is. There's no Prince Charming. Stop falling for guys just because they call you "beautiful." Kayden and Jules together made me happy. He made Jules feel strong and confident. They were good for each other.

This story was very different from Brittainy's other stories. It was short, sweet and funny. I really enjoyed it.
This was a cute, fun holiday story which I did truly enjoy! It is a novella that I purposely saved for this festive time of year. Brittainy Cherry has never disappointed... not even this time with the insta-love. I've decided insta-love is fine. Perfect, in fact. So long as the characters are well developed... and in this story, true to Brittainy Cherry's form, they are.

"Don't give away you power to people who don't deserve it. You may not be able to control the weather- or the family you're born into- but you can control who you allow to hurt you, who you allow to affect you."

Brittainy always builds strength in her characters. And Kayden and Jules were great for each other. They called each other out and built each other up. All for the sake of a made-up relationship. There were some deep emotions. There were not so deep. Lots of laughs and plenty of times I just had to smile.
Jules Stone has a lot of heartache and brokenness in her past and present. The man she had been with for almost four years got her sister pregnant and left her for her sister. She finally moved on and got engaged to Richard who ended up being a douche-bag. She found a ring and assumed he was proposing to her on Christmas. When she told him she had found she got the shock of her life. He had decided to propose to his 'girlfriend' of four years that Jules knew absolutely nothing about. I'm quite certain the soon-to-be fiance knew nothing of Jules either. This happened as she came home to pick him up for their week long trip to her parents to celebrate Christmas. Whoa! She couldn't go home alone and face her parents and sister with her ex by her sister's side. Just too painful to show up alone. Poor Jules was invisible to her family and got blamed for everything. She could do no right while her sister who had a hand in breaking up Jules relationship was considered perfect. Even Grandma couldn't do or say anything right. That was really quite sad. No one saw her for the wonderful, but slightly weird, girl she was. All she wanted was love, for someone to love her as she is, but it appeared no one did.

Jules worked for a talent agency who represents actors. After Richard left to go be with his true love she immediately headed to work. She found an actor that agreed to play her devoted boyfriend.

Kayden Reece is the man who accepted the offer and boy did she ever hit the jackpot. He was also broken and scarred by heartache but he was helpful to Jules and played the part of her lover to perfection...until it wasn't playing any longer. I loved this couple and all the sorted family dynamics. They were perfect for each other and their hearts began to heal.

I love this type of story-line whether it's in a book or movie. It's just fun. This is my second time reading this book and it won't be my last.
